- In a large sauce pan over medium heat, heat the oil and sauté the onion, green pepper and garlic for 2-3 minutes or until vegetables are wilted.
- Add cilantro and ground beef and sauté for 10 minutes, stirring often to separate the ground beef.
- Add salt, pepper, oregano, ground cumin, and tomato paste and simmer ground beef for an additional 10 minutes. *
- Mix ins: (optional) You may add the following diced cooked ingredients to your finished ground beef for a filling for empanadas: 1 potato, 1 hard-boiled egg, 1 TBS. green olives, sliced,1 canned pimento pepper.
